All I have is powerbait swimbaits, and let it sink, then work it slowly over the bottom with hard, short jerks, of your rod tip, another trick is to let it sink, the lift your rod tip, then reel down, to pick up the slack.

I use the wild eye swim shad in blue gill, and they have worked fine for me. There is no right or wrong way to fish them, it just depens on what the fish wants. I have fished them like stated above, and also I have fished them with a slow retrieve.

There are many swimbait types: sinking, slow sinking, suspending, surface, subsurface; soft plastic, hard, hybrid so it really depends on what type of swimbait you have tied. The most common way to present them is to swim the swimbait ( cast and retrieve at slow speed ), but that doesnīt necessarily mean itīs the only way to present them. One thing is certain, you donīt get many fish hooked on swimbaits, also, they have the annoying property of hanging up in an eyeblink specially sinking and suspending ones.
