Donīt purchase that combo, you will be wasting your money, take it from someone that has sold those and the quality is very poor. Why instead of purchasing a combo you spend your money in some good baits ? Itīs not the wand, itīs the magician.

pitchin is an accurate under hand cast
flippen is using only the line that hangs down to your reel for reel heavy cover and very accurate positioning and like i said it isnt an amazing reel but if you are jus ta begginer you dont need top of the line equiptment my first baitcaster was second hand and about 5 years old

well, id buy some nice baits, but i kinda wanted to try out baitcasting. always got my cardinal, advoacte rod, and ugly stik if i need power. and i think instead of buing a baitcasting rod then, i should buy a really good spinning rod. how are emeralds?

not sure never used one i think you should still try baitcasting rods they are much better for getting a fish out of heavy cover
and do you have a boat

The situation is this, to get a good baitcaster you need to spend some dough, to get a good spinning reel you donīt need to go bankrupt, you can get a pretty nice spinning combo for around 80 dollars, Shimano Sedona/Berkley Lightning rod, Iīve caught many good fish ( 5+ lbs ) with a combo like that, another good option for 60 bucks would be the Daiwa Procaster 7i/ Bionic Blade combo: http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...rTarget=browse
The reel is good the rod is fair considerably better than the Graphite Series. A similar combo would be the Daiwa Samurai/Bionic Blade combo: http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...rTarget=browse Iīve sold many of those reels, no complains and it cost the same. |

it is an alright reel but i would think about investing in a better spinning reel like a pflueger or the top of the line cardinal

well yeah... although my dad thinks natural is much better. all you need are some hooks, a bobboer and a worm. the wom is free. bobber is a cork. all you need is a hook. but this way lasts longer, and i need to get better if i still want to fish. my mom complains how i waste my time and dont bring back any dinner

they sell worms at a convenience store? not in NJ, i think...and also, live wormsa re as costly as a pack of plastic ones. liveworms get stolen in a snap by most fish. plastics are durable. and about your signarute... does caviar seriously catch fish? red caviar is pretty damn cheap, and tastes horrible to humans, so probably good to fish

Cranky,
i dont get you. You have an MP3 player, yet whine and moan about buying a rod and reel. I lay down money on rods like they go out of style. If you want a good starter rod it is a Fenwick Eagle GT. Get it in a 6-6ft6in Medium Action. Rod will cost you 50 bucks out of Cabelas. Get A Mitchell 300x Silver one, you can get it for around 35-40 Bucks, Get 8 lb line- 4-5 a spool, and you are set on a rod. This is a Spinning Setup. I wouldnt reccomend a baitcaster to someone who only caught 3 bass, has no idea of technique and is still learning how to read water. I just recently started using a biatcaster, last Spring. I have become profiecint with it, but I prefer spinning because you cast longer, and dont have to worry about nasty backlashes. Another thing I dont get, 80 dollars for a textbook, and you dont mind paying it, but when it comes to a rod and reel it is like oil and water. Why?
