Bassin Tom, if you like lipless baits a lot disregard this suggestion. If you're losing baits like that and still want a similar form of presentation, switch to a short 2-3" lipped crankbait with a square bill. You'll keep your trebles out of the cover and effectively stay in the same strike zone. The square bill will also enable awesome ricochets that will drive the lunkers nuts.

We don't have alot of grass here in NC. I usually just crank my bait in at a rapid pace. The fish sees it as a reaction bait. The LV series appears to have a different rattle inside. I think that It's tungsten vs lead. Sounds totally different from a Rat-l-trap or any other lipless crankbait that I've used.
The LV series is a Lucky Craft bait. Cost: appx. $15.00. Well worth it in my opinion.

Sometimes I wonder if they just hit it because it irratates them. Heck, you can hear the rattles 50 ft away underwater, just think what that does to a bass's lateral line.

1FASTLAZER,
The rattles are tungsten vs. lead. They have a different sound and attract bass better than lead. Most other lippless cranks sound similar to each other. Granted, I have used my share of Rat-l-traps and yes I have caught alot of fish while using these baits. However, for that matter, just loaned an LV series bait to a friend. After he was using Rat-l-traps with no luck he began catching fish with the LV series. P.S. My name is not whoever.

I am like you on the raps. Havent really done very well with them. Look good but dont put fish inthe livewell. Whoever..........LOL Bassnman couldnt resist Didnt know they rattles where tungsten. Now it makes some sense why they do produce. I have gone to tungsten exclusively for weights and noticed that my bite ratio has gone up more so in muddy water and I dofish muddy water occasionaly LOL. |

The tungsten "can" make all the difference.
