Where we normally fish from shore, there is a driveway next to the shore, so I throw 3-4 rods in the back of the truck. If we're shore fishing elsewhere I normally only bring two.

Zook,
It's the camera angle! No. I'm really that short, but I don't have problems wielding even my 9'6" salmon/steelhead rods. I can even pitch my 7' rods from the ground without issue. The perception of short people having problems with longer rods is a myth.

I'm alive at 5'5". The notion that shorter folk need to use shorter rods is a myth.

I carry either one or two, depending on mood/location. If I'm out at this pond in the woods I drive out to, I'll throw two and a few tackle boxes in the truck bed. A lot of times I'll park somewhere and carry one rod and a tackle bag. When I guerilla fish the golf course, I throw some worms in my pocket, take one rod, and catch em till I run out or get kicked out.

Two med/fast action 7' spinning outfits Avid and Powell. Less hastle and much easier to fish if Im faced with wind. My revo stxs go on the boat. Most all my bank fishing is plastics and if some wind Ill throw spinner baits walking the bank. If the ladys fishin with me Ill take a baitcaster outfit since shell be using the spin outfits.

I do shore fish from time to time locally here on LI. The few lakes I fish are small, shallow (less then 10 ft), weedy, and they all have limited access. I carry 3 spinning setups: Drop Shot, t-rigged plastics, and the 3rd setup for shallow cranks, & spinnerbaits. I have a small Plano bag for those lures, plastics, and terminal tackle I might need.

I guess it depends on how close I can park to the water, time of year, and water conditions.
I fish a lot of smaller water where I am on foot. I will seldom go less than 2 rods but have carried 4 if I am in a location where I am frogging or having to downsize baits. I usually carry a 7 ft MH with fluoro and a 6'6" MH with mono on bait casters. If I do carry the other 2, 1 is a 7'6 Heavy Bait Caster with braid and the other is a 7" Medium on a spinning reel. All of the tackle goes into a camel back style backpack. A few bags of plastics and 2-3 plano boxes.

I used to carry 2 or 3... But we didn't have a rack or anything to carry them with so it got too irritating and there would be too much for me to keep track of. Now, I just have a 7' spinning rod and reel, and I have a backpack with a box for my terminal tackle and crankbaits, etc., sunglasses, food, and soft plastics. So my hands are free at all time. When I want to change, I change. It does get annoying, but it only takes about 2 minutes to switch lures. Sometimes, to make it easier, when I'm fishing crankbaits, I just attach on a swivel. It lets it wobble more freely, and I can switch if I want to hit a different depth or change colors.
