As far as the original post "Hangin up for the season" .....What are u NUTS. Never ever NEVAH hang it up. Gotta stay sharp and the big plus is once you catch a few when conditions are tuff like they usually are in the winter you will become more proficent at fishing when cold fronts move through in the spring, summer and fall. The only time I will hang it up is when they put me 6ft under. Fished while its snowing and fished when every 2 or third cast had to dunk the rod to keep the ice outta the guides.
Zook LMAO!! Damn good way to explain racing across the lake in 20 degree water. ROTFLMAO....Gettin shot in the nose with a BB gun. Couldnt put it better myself. |

I'm done for now, unless I get a chance to go to Patoka or Monroe. All the smaller waters here are froze.

I'm done until March or so ... occasionally I'll throw a line in off the pier to check on the Striper situation (if it isn't too cold).

Unfortunately in CT. most lakes if not all are frozen over, so I don't have much choice. I will do some ice fishing, but I'm really looking forward to my trip to Florida Feb. 18th thru the 26th. I plan on fishing every day except on the days when I go to the Classic @ Toho.

Spawn aint till End Of March or April Up here. I am hanging it up until The End of Febuary, right around when the Daytona 500 starts, I start. Rivers are the only choice then I believe.

I took my last 2 trips out of town (2 days at a time) and went hunting instead of fishing and all we saw were 2 does. My youngest daughter shot a 6 pt. Deer season ends soon. I may get one more chance and then I will b back 2 fishing.

I winterized my boat at the end of October since I had to go to Thailand for a while and I didn't know for how long I would be gone or what the weather was going to be like here. I got back for a couple days in late November before I went back on the road and the weather was great, I should have kept it out. I did go out ice fishing a couple weeks ago but now this is the worst weather since it is too warm to trust the ice so I can't fish at all.
