Forget the tape measure observation . . . I still have some concerns on the girth of the fish. It just looks like there is too sharp of an angle on its stomach. Maybe I just don't catch fat fish.

First off, I am going to take a while to review the pic. I actually do that with every picture.
But more importantly for all who have posted in this thread since the last picture, let me say again.... This is the picture thread. We have a discussion thread. I want to make it easier to just look at all pictures in this thread. I am not a moderator in any regard so I can't move yalls posts to the appropriate thread like Kevin, so please, ask yourself before each post "am I posting in the right thread".

Lol.
Didn't I PM you asking if it was a spot? Not only is it a spot, it is an alabama spotted bass, caught a mere 50 miles from where I sit. Smith Lake. I knew something was fishy. I thought you superimposed a tape measure on a smaller fish, considering your location in Texas I even looked up the guadelupe bass to see if that was what I was seeing. I knew something was off. Also, you are in friggin south texas and wearing a turqoise sweater? That didn't jive from a style perspective.

All this drama underlines why we follow the rules and why you got to have 1 guy in charge, although I do appreciate the help and assistance.
I sent Texasbasser this PM... Get me a pic later when it is working with an ID. You have a few weeks. BTW, you realize what a nice fish that is, don't you? Are you sure it was a largemouth, I mean I can almost see a resemblence to a spot. Now he never would have been able to "get his camera working", cause he didn't have that fairly unique sweater to ID the catch by. I'm still going to allow the "unique ID" in certain circumstances, but it has to be solid enough that I have no doubts about the entry. So it is much better to get real ID, or actually a sheet of paper with your name, date and bassfishin.com scribbled on it is as good as it gets. As for Texasbasser, I don't think he was playing a practical joke. I think he was trying to pull a fast one. There are consequences for that. But I wont disqualify him or his team, even though I have right to do so. I have my reasons why I think that would be a bad idea. I have decided as a penalty to not count that entry's weight (it would have been 8.15 lbs to the team of FishingFortune and TexasBasser), but I will count the entry under the number column for that particular team, and not allow them to cull that entry. So to TexasBasser, CONGRATULATIONS!....You guys now effectivly have weighed in 1 bass for 0 pounds, and only have 9 more fish to weigh in. Let that be a lesson.

wtl, i was playing a joke. i do see how that would be hard for someone to beleive, this being a tourny and all.
but, i have been having camera problems, and me and my dad are thinking about buying a new camera for my mom this christmas. that IS the truth. I accept the penalty, and im sorry fishinfortune, ill try to catch a big one extra hard now. i will have my ID in a pic from now on, if not i will forget the bass, no matter the size. im very sorry everyone and i know i should of done it in another thread, or not even at all. |
