I have the same problem. Always seems to be with a crankbait, popper, or something else with exposed trebles, which leaves me plenty of opportunity to get hung. With a frog, pig-n-jig, t-rigged worm, or something else weedless, I've always casting about the same distance short.

The same here... Also, I got my new reel in from bass pro shops yesterday...i didn't have any good line so i put some cheapo on it and put a weight on the end of it...I went out casting to see how it was and i was barely casting and it was going 40-50 yards i was impressed...I then had this thread in mind so since it was cheapo line and was going to cut it off anyways i then decided to turn the brakes all the way down and see how far i could cast it...i didn't care if it bird nested..so i went for it, and with a new rod and reel i casted it hard it went about, no lie 150-175 yards, well the weight did, it hit my grandpas house which was pretty far away...the line bird nested and the weight snapped off and was gone....I know if the line would of not broke it would of been no where near that but i was impressed....
