Yes I have used it and for 60 lb mono it works good. Had the swivel break before the knot did. I have even seen the Captains use a lighter to burn the tag off in place of the overhand knot.
But it would never work for braid or flouro because the line is not soft enough.. The stretch of that old mono tightened the knot as more presure was applied. Capt Mike

Now I want to thank EVERYONE for their input.
It's ALL really good. I'm also looking forward to hearing ALOT more on this. One thing I really think is neat is that three very strong anglers all with a ton of 'water time' under their belts all have a different view. All are backed by 'water tested' experiences and yet so different in results and opinion of the knot. It also tells me that it's a knot maybe worth experimenting with myself. So that's what I'm going to do. I got a good weather week coming my way and times running fast towards 'HARD WATER'. So this looks like the week for me to 'put my money where my mouth/finger (notice I didn't mention 'head', cause I'm assuming my finger and head will be in the same spot ) is and give it a try. Thanks again everyone!

I tried the knot in a test of my own tonight, I used 12lb Tatsu FC line and tied the knot as shown. Most of the time the knot slipped before it had enough pressure on the line to break, the results of the few times I actually got it to hold were inconclusive, over half the time the knot broke the other the line.
Might be something to try with mono, but it will def. not be a knot I use with FC.
