I've read the thread and don't think this was mentioned. Met a fellow at X-Mart and he would occasionally win tournaments doing this with a buzzbait....
Cut the wire just in front of the lead head nose......with needle nose pliars, bend the wire up and over into a loop.....after putting on a split ring, close the loop. Now, on the split ring, hang a lipless Frenzy lure, or any wide nosed lipless crankbait, and have at it. The lipless crank shakes the whole rig and the crank is chasing the blade.....as well. A total action bait results. I made up one just last week and will be wearing it out soon. Good fishing, Mac Also, some of the locals are using the back end of a fluke, the back half or so in place of the skirt. |
