Rather than respool the entire reel I pull off 2-3 cast lengths, tie the new line on with an overhand knot and then spool up with fresh line. No bass will spool you, and when you can feel the knot it is time for fresh line again. That has worked well for me for years.
W2B, no special tools. A pencil through the spool with a baitcaster and set the spool on the floor for a spinning reel.

Real Magic as for as i am concerned is all rite. Seems to keep the line from looking like a slinkey spring the first few times you throw it. When I put the poles up I give em a shot then when I go out do it again. Also when spoolin I put a little pressure on the spool to keep the line tite on the reel less back lashes for me and believe me I need that, like some one stated on here an I quote I can back lash a spinning reel. my problem is I run the reel to loose in case I want to do a quick flip.
never gonna be but I have fun |

just take half the line off and use it as backing saves ALOT of line and money
