First baitcaster was a Ryobi V Mag IV. I still have it, but the level wind is gone.
First rod was a Zebco 202 combo I got over 40 years ago. ![]()

My first baitcaster was last year...an Abu Silver Max. Good entry level reels that I have passed on to another owner.
My first rod and reel were certainly a Zebco 202 combo, but the first combo I ever bought with my own money was a silver fiberglass Shakespeare spinning rod with a Mitchell 300 spinning reel. God, I miss that rod. Such memories.

My first BC reel was also a Silvermax..Great little reel that served me well.
My first decent set up was a Diawa regal spinning reel with a BPS IM6 graphite series..That combo is almost 9 years old now and the reel still runs cherry. My very first set up was spincast on a 5'6'' rod...Cant remember the brand at all.

My uncle gave me my first baitcaster when I was about 14. It is a Shimano Bantam Beast Master BBM III 2 speed reel 6.1 and 4.1. I still have it and use it as one of my crankin reel's. First crankin rod was a pistol grip not sure of the make.
