I appreciate the thought, but I still plan to share cabins with the Ron and Adam.

Nice try though. LOL

Hey Daniel, the link you posted from Bing, showing an aerial view of the lake at below normal pool conditions reveals some potentially good spot which could be in the bass zone when it comes to depth, structure and cover.

Here's that link again showing the Kemper Flats and all of it's exposed cover.

http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&cp=36....=h&form=LMLTCC

With this resource and a good lake chart, I'm planning on eliminating as much "bad water" as possible before I get there.

I know I'm not attending but I'm looking at that arial view. Is there any vedgitation in that lake? It looks intimidating simply because there are so many nice looking structures that narrowing down which one would be holding fish could be daunting. I'd love to have a month of day to day fishing to figure that baby out!!!

Ah, finally a response, thanks Keith.

Here is what Elwood had to say previously about your question:

Change up different types of structure to fish because with black shale points, chunk rock points, pea gravel and mud points, deep grass beds, medium grass beds, bluff walls, humps, ledges, islands located in all parts of the lake the fish could be anywhere. ~Elwood

Hey Keith, I can really relate to your statement where you said" I'd love to have a month of day to day fishing to figure that baby out!"

My response to this statement and to all of you: As a fisherman that would be my dream come true, isn't that what fishing is all about, it's not just the fish we are after but the pursuit that gets us there.

Don't let intimidation(fear) rob you of your pleasure in the pursuit of your fishing dreams.

Where ya been Mark? I made the exact same observation two pages back that you made two posts above. Thanks to Daniel's post with the low water levels, some very nice spots are visible. I actully printed sections of the lake from Daniel's link and have them attached to my Dale Hollow chart so I can view them again while on the water, fishing those areas.

Also two pages back, I put some commentarty about vegetation, sturcture, etc, that I got off my Dale Hollow chart. Just trying to be helpful.

Now there's a great idea, that I promise not to bring back up in one of my later post.

I ordered the HotSpots map and got it in the other day. Took a minute to look at the areas we've been talking about, and had to shake my head. In my usual hangouts around here, there's places where you can be a mile from dry land, and you're in the middle of a huge flat that only has 4-5 feet of water year-round. At Dale Hollow, you can be within what looks like 20-30 yards of dry land and be in 80-90 feet of water.
I have a feeling this is going to be a textbook example of the blind squirrel trying to find an acorn.

You forget, oh great helpful one - there will be a couple of us there all week and we should have some information, HOPEFULLY, that we can share................... for the appropriate fee, of course. Really, by the time you get there Bryce, certainly as he has teh most previous knowledge, Woody and I should have found some patterns that work and spots that yeild fish. Unlike some people, I don't think we'll be napping in the boat - well maybe Doc will take a nap or three -

I think Bryce will be able to help me with what NOT to do, and Woody will be able to tell me, "Yes, that water right there is deep enough to swim in.....I've already been in it."

So, by the process of elimination that leaves ME to be the one to tell you where to go and what you can do.

Really?

Actually, there are places you only need to be about 5 yards off of the bank and you're in 80-90 feet of water.

The squirrel better bring a scuba mask.

I've actually given that some serious thought. There's a few scuba diving spots marked on the map....I bet it would be awesome to dive in fresh water that clear. 60-70 degree water is pretty brisk, though.

I forgot I have an Aquaview camera - maybe I should dig it out and see it it still works. That might provide some fun in the really clear water of the Hollow.

My Hero camera is waterproof to 197 feet.

It would be awesome to find spawning bass like in that video I posted a while back and get some underwater HD video of them....

At the very least, I could shoot some crappie under the boat or bluegill.

It's getting close. A couple more weeks (actually 15 days) and I'll be on my way. I really hope the fishing is better than I experienced at Wheeler last year. Anyway, I will be leaving right from 4 days on the Potomac, which IS ON FIRE right now and I hope it holds on for another couple weeks. Big fish, and lots of them, have been caught there the entire last month with all the good weather here in the Northeast.

My plans have me leaving Indy at 4am Monday May 7th. Its about 5hrs. 30min. to Celina, Tenn. I plan on stopping at Headrick's Bait Shop first thing for a fishing license then over to Cedar Hill to rent a boat slip for a couple days until Ron and Adam arrive with their reservations. Then I hope to have my boat on the water by high noon. Hope the fish are biting.

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, someone else will be there the whole week!

We will have a 9 -10 hour drive from the Potomac. That saves us about 3.5 hours over leaving from home. We should get in Sunday evening and begin fishing Mon. morning.
