Just some advice!!!
OK!!! I learned this the hard way and even though it may be common sense to some of you, I will say it any ways!!!!
The Tip!!!! When you decide to get all your fishing arsenal together to organize it all...Do not do it in front of your woman.... If you buy some here and a little there, she does not really notice... But when you get all of it together at once, she starts to realize exactly how much equipment you have.... and even if you think it is not too much, she will....and then she has an excuse for anything she wants!!! Sincerely, Stupid |

Yes, it is common sense to some of us, but only because we have made the same mistake. I am only really in trouble if I ever change jobs and do not have an office where I can keep some of my stuff.

I must really be one lucky guy. While my wife thinks I'm nuts for spending as much as I do on fishing equipment, since she still doesn't understand the need for more then one reel/rod/hook, she never complains since everything is paid for in cash/gift cards that I buy rather then use one of our charge cards. All my setups are stored on brackets on the garage walls, tackle bags, and misc equipment on shelves dedicated to just fishing. And the computer room's closet is where I keep my tackle bag and boxes of spare lures, terminal tackle etc.
I don't hide anything. No need to. We use to live below our means. We have always followed our golden rule. Pay all our bills 1st. Then our family an home needs. We spend on our hobbies what we can. No more. It's that simple.

Bama,
This summer before I head to Alaska, I may sell my Citica and buy a new BPS reel. It is left handed and only one year old. If you want, I'd be willing to sell it come April or May.. |

I've been married 7 years and my wife still can't get over the fact that I go fishing and don't dig no worms. But we had a great talk before we said I DO and I explained to her that my only hobby is fishing. She understands and still thinks I'm crazy when all I ask for for Christmas and Birthdays is BPS gift cards. She wants to buy me crap like tools and shoes and such. You know crap I really don't need but she has held pretty close to what we talked about. Yeah she still thinks I'm crazy but only because I can't understand why I don't think some little 100 buck loggenburger basket is cute. Yet I never questions the baskets.

Just a follow up to my other post. I never hunted a thing a day in my life untill I got married. Her dad had a stroke some years back and was an avid deer hunter before he got sick. She kept on saying why don't you go hunting with dad. He would enjoy it. I thought to myself I aint sitting in no tree and freezing my hind end waiting on a deer. Well I finally caved and on my first trip about 7 minutes into it I bagged a doe. Now its turkey, deer, coyotes, etc....... and I tell her that she can't complain because I would have never done it if not for her. Now I've not only got the bait monkey but I also have the bow and arrow / calls / shells / camo / blinds / urine / well I think you get the picture monkey as well. What a great wife I have. Introduced me to hunting. Mabye she just wanted me out of the house more I am not quite sure.

Very lucky here also guys....the wife lets me go almost every weekend morn and seldom questions why I need so many poles and lures ect......and I know exactly why. Because my other vise (bad habit) is running up to one of the local casino's and dropping plenty of cash at the craps table!!!! I'm quite sure I coulda had a top of the line rig by now if I had steered clear of them damn places. Anyway, she is quite the happy lil lady when I go fishin' because the alternative is NOT GOOD
