94 Total Bass Today...WHACKED THEM
Yep....the feed was on today... got to the lake and it was chocolate milk colored and I haven't been out in weeks and I decided to flip a black and chart jig on the first dock and got a nice one and got another on a screwed up jigheaded beaver.....wasn't getting any for a while so I decided to put a bigger spinnerbait that I got from FLFIREMAN on and started to cover some water slowly retrieving the bait along rip rap banks at different depths and whacked about 6 on that....but the bite stopped so I decided to go fish a huge boulder rocky pointh with boulders and stuff off it with about 25 feet of water out in front and the water was a stained here and I chunked the spinner and got about 4 nice ones that were like footballs just turning the blades... picked up a jig and got one more...then I went to go flip some more docks and didn't get anything off them...it was weird because that's where I thought they would be with the darker water and all...so I went to go and flip some brush at the end of a deep windy cove and got 3 more on the jig....not much happening I went back to the deeper boulder point and tied on a large square bill chart with brown back crank and proceeded to get one every cast off the point every time I would bring it over a rock for about 37 minutes... bet there were 200 something fish on it... the bite finally stoped on it so I switched up to a smaller white version of the crank and just hammered them every cast pretty much.again for a long time.... it got rediculous... I was suppose to be taking a day off to rest today so I got tired of them hitting it so I just put on a jighead and a worm and slowed down...lol.. later I tied the crank on againg and went around the docks and pulled a couple more off them...lol..The BPS GRAPHITE CHEAPO RODS KICK BUTT AS A CRANKING ROD>>>> I only lost 2 bass all day....that's awesome I think.... all the fish were about 2lbs... nothing of any size.. had a couple of 3 pounders on the jigs and all.... but SPRING IS DEFFINATELY HERE!

Fishie, what part of the country do you live in? I had some luck also on spinnerbaits and jigs over the weekend. Sounds like you had one of those rare days that come a long every few years! I can't wait for it to be my turn.

I could have gotten a lot more just didn't feel like it would be a good Idea to keep chucking a crankbait all day with baseball and all...lol..No kidding I would pray that the fish would not take the bait when I threw it out there because it was just insane...I remeber being like if you hit this and then over the rock and bam...lol...DAMMIT... you had to hit it.... Probably could have gotten around 140 if I wanted to.... This lake is loaded but most of the time the fish are out deeper in 30 feet of water but I think I hit them as they were moving up on the point....I live in St. Louis so we have been having some really good weather until recently.....they were taking BPS Crankbaits..... I know the lakes like the back of my hand pretty much...I got a good feel for them...I just wonder what would have happened if I was on the big fish lake that day....I doubt the fish would be in the same mood because its totally different and all but I think there would have been some 6lbers up and all...
20lb line spinnerbait 14lb on shallow square bill 12 on square bills and other cranks 14lb line on jigs and worms I rigged my jigs with the beaver by bps on the back and a 1/2 oz jig and the cranks where the largest size and all but I did good on a smaller one also... the baits I were using were fairly large...lol.. Somethings I should have tried were a jerkbait but the water was stained but I think it was more towards the top but there was a lot and I mean a lot of wind on the point and all .... also maybe a c rig on that point.. Two things to work on are jigs and c rig... got to do one...lol.

1' Gives you confidence in the bait right away. 2. Gives a feel for what is and isn't a bite for the future times you need to use it. Lizards
