Lighted docks and shores at night are GREAT. The make a commercially available (bass pro shops sells them) light for floating in the water. It is a small wattage light encassed in styrofoam so it floats and of course operates off your 12 volt battery. Alot of crappie fisherman use this wwhen fishing at night. The light draws bugs, bugs draw minnows, minnows draw bass, crappie etc etc. Another little nice feature and the only reason I have one of these light is that it draws the gnats etc to the light so that you can fish a little more comfortably without the gnats buzzing around your head

'I would check your local laws on this floating light. I think I amnot sure you can use the floating one just not the submergible one. I aint sure but I thinkits ok. I seem to remeber someone telling me that you can do thi.
