Oh yeah-great bait! Try Smokin' Shad and Watermelon Red Flake. Tough to beat those 2 colors.

Super Flukes and the similar Bass Assassins are both great lures. I don't have a favorite color, all the ones I've used have caught fish. My experience is different from kh51501's; I don't use attractant and they've always held on more than long enough for a hookset.
In addition to the usual way of twitching these sub-surface, they can also be effective on the surface using a walk-the-dog retrieve.

I just started using the super flukes about a month ago....I'm a big fan of 'em...my best colors are pearl, watermelon w/red, and watermelon candy...i use them on offset wieghted hooks rigged weedless usually but texas rig works pretty well if you need to get deeper faster...also try drop shotting...this is a lure that is effective almost any way you use it

Super Fluke can be a killer bait. I like to use natural colors mostly.

I have had better luck with the Bass Assassin ones than even the Zooms. I have been using them in white. I have not given as much time to the Zooms though. T-Rigged bouncing off the weed beds.

Try it on a C-rig-especially the 3X version-the Zulu. It suspends up off the bottom and can be a killer bait.

I like the pearl or green colors, with a 12 -18 inch leader off a barrel swivel so the line doesn;t twist.

The Zoom Fluke is one of my best Soft Plastic Jerkbiats I use. I like the watermelon/red, Smoken Shad, Pearl, White Ice, and Baitfish or what ever it is clear with lots of different color gliter LOL For some reason Soft plastic Craw baits I have had not luck at all what so ever.

The only luck Ive had with them is a constant retrieve on the top of the water column. Picked up some bubble gum colored ones today gonna try em' when I get back to FLA.

I like to let them sink to the desired depth that day , using a heavier hook or some wieght insert, with a leader, and once its deep I start the rod tip up, let the line hit the water and rest, then repeat. Its easy to say how
slow you think you can wait between twitches, but it seems most like me will work it all the way back to the boat. |
