Nice smallies.

Thats a sheepshead? I didnt think they were common in freshwater, much less an actual lake.

02,
eries full of sheephead, most guys slap them on the bow of the boat and toss them back in...they fight really well, and you think you have a 13 lb toemain devil (walleye), they it turns out to be a purring sheephead that craps on you.

We caught a bunch of those up there! We call them sheepheads up here you might call them something different. Like drum, white perch, goats etc. They are not the saltwater sheephead.

Sheephead = Freshwater Drum. Annoying fish that taste like crap, but they do serve a purpose, cleaning up the crap in the lake. Anyways, another real hotspot for smallies in "The Puddle" up here is about a mile or so off the Perry nuclear power plant. The bottom is very rocky out there, and there is a water outlet from the cooling towers that sends up a pillar of water that them smallies love to hang around. I've nabbed many a 7 pounder out there.

Dunno what gun you are talking about, but I was just out on the lake yesterday for perch, unfortunately they have been very much off and on this year, and yesterday was more off than on. My dad, sister, daughter and I only brought in 14 for the day... Oh well, better than working.

Perrysburg is in the far western end of the lake, Perry is in the Central Basin about 50 miles east of Cleveland... little bit of distance between them. I rarely get out to the western basin for fishing.
