worn rod finish
Ive got a HD rod that has the finish worn in a few places doe to riding around in an alum boat. Any recommendation for patching the finish?

Spray paint, Crayons, nail polish, I dunno?
If there's no damage to the stucture of the rod and you can still catch fish, why worry about it. I sure as heck wouldn't. -Eric

Try a little car wax if you want a shiny finish.

Lightly sand the finish with 600 grit sand paper. Then hook the rod up to a sewing machine motor. Brush on epoxy while its spinning. after the epoxy is applied run a lighter over the surface in quick motions to pop any trapped air. Once that is done leave the motor running/rod spinning untill the epoxy is dry (prevents it from running/saggin). Your rod will look better than when you bought it.
