Mustad Snap Hook Connectors Anyone use these?
I have some tiny No-Knot fast snaps I got at Bass Pro for fly fishing, but, i'd like to try some Bass size snaps.
I heard that these Mustad Snap Hook Connectors were good, but I can't find them for sale anywhere? Got any input? Got 2 small bass today and a dozen or so snook! They were hiding under a little "unlikely looking" bridge. My son and I each got a 33" er each, plus around a dozen or so smaller ones and I got 2 small bass and my son got 3. |

DANG nice snook. I assume you're in S. Florida. As for fly fishing I just recommend a loop knot on the end of your tippet.

I don't like the snap connectors. I only tried them one year and it didn't work. I was bringing in a nice fish and my line broke at the connector. It was actually the plastic that broke.
That's when I asked my self, "What's the reasoning? I've been tying leader and tippet for years, why bother paying $4 for this knotless leader?" Even if it did work, I think they're a waste of money. |

I mislead you all
I am not asking about flyfishing snaps. I can see how it looked that way though!
I'm asking about this TYPE of snap, large enough for use with 17 lb test mono for crankbait fishing. My vision is poor, so tying knots is hard for me. The regular snap swivels [common type] are still hard for me to see and my hands are big. So, I was hoping a good solid quick snap like this was available? |

I use these, without the swivels. The brand I use is called duo locks, but couldn't find them listed by themselves. I really only use them on some crankbaits.

I have some of both.I tend to use the swivel more with lures.I use a #12 fastlock I have a round thinggy like a pie shape with depts for them.I don't use the smaller ones (but if you say you need one?I'll pass it to ya)but buy the #12's to restock.I started to use them cause would lose my attachments. The swivel helps me when bank fishing.I'm pretty good at finding trees.
