Looking for a good lake in Louisina
I am trying to make up my mind on what lake to fish the last week in March. I am wanting to go to Louisina, I have never fished there and thought it might be a good time to try. Can any one give me any help of choice of lake, spots ect.

Venice? It would be a little brackish in parts, but there have been BASS tourneys out of there. Dont know how its been since Katrina though.

The hurricanes this past summer produced massive fish kill on the Chaf basin. I work with a lot of service people from this area that have confirmed this. There is always Toledo Bend. Personally, I have always wanted to fish Bistineau. I have some coworkers around Shreveport that tell me it is a pretty good place to fish.

I have been catching out of Venice the past couple of months. They were probably fishing the MS and the back sloughs. The MS enters the Gulf out of Venice. I wouldn't leave nothing sitting around too long down there though, it might take up other ownership.

Toledo Bend. No question about it. The Atchafalya basin was on fire (think 150 + fish a day) in certain parts before the storms, not any more. Also the water in the basin has been super low. Low enough that the guys who know the waters won't even think about going in there.
