Exclamation Getting Logged Out and Having To Login Constantly?

I've had one report from a member that has said they keep getting logged out constantly when browsing through the forums. And they have to keep logging in to make posts, etc.

Anyone else having similar problems. If you are, please reply to this message. I'm trying to see how widespread this problem is, or if it is local to a specific member.

Thank you,

Kevin

Nope, no problems here or at work, but sounds like a problem we were having at work. Thought it was someone hacking into something they shouldn't be but turned out a program was just misbehaving.

I do have that problem every so often, but it is alweays a message from microsoft. happens every 10 mins. Was going to ask about it since I am not a computer expert. Right now it isn't happening but when it does it is a pain. Defraged and it stopped but it will probably happen again. Any ideas what causes this?

Kevin,

I have that problem when I go to post a new message or reply to one, on a regular basis. A lot of times I don't even sign in unless I see a thread I want to respond to. I log in to reply to it, write my response, hit the "Submit Reply" button and then it asks me to log in again. I've never noticed getting logged off while just surfing the threads but I guess I wouldn't if I wasn't posting.

Only incident is when I have told the system to log in for keeps, the next time I go on the site I have to log in again. It has happened on a number of occasions. Never while browsing the site.

The one thing that keeps you logged in is the cookie that is placed on your computer. But sometimes if you run virus/spyware apps like Spybot S&D, AdAware, Norton stuff, etc... they get cookie-happy and delete cookies from your machine, which may include the BassFishin.Com Forums cookie that remembers who you are. And obviously if you delete your own cookies that will cause this as well. Otherwise, as long as you tick 'Remember Me', you shouldn't have any problems staying logged in. But if you do, I certainly want to hear about it. Thanks!

Just remember your ID and password because occasionally there will be a server problem or maintenance issue. When this happens you will occasionally have to login again. Just remember to click "forever" or some long period when prompted.
I recently had to re-login on all of the forums I belong to, I suspect my anti-virus software did some magical thing that caused me to have to do that.

I have mine on "Sign In Auto", and sometimes when I get on it is not logged in. Yet, if I got to my "Favorites" and go to the site I am logged on. If I type in the URL, sometimes I will not be logged in; if I go to my favorties it mostly is.
