I have the most luck in the morning and late in the afternoon. But bass also bite just before a low pressured storm moves in.

I have had more luck in the mornings. I usually go an hour before sun up and stay for 3-4 hours. It seems to help when a cold front has moved in the night before. I'm going out in the morning.

I like the day time because bass get tighter to cover if its sunny. I am a big worm fisherman.

fish bite all the time, you just have to find out where the fish are that are biting. Thats why people spend so much time looking for "active fish". Its just a matter of being in a mess of active fish with the right bait.

WHEN THERE HUNGRY........LOL sorry had to say that. Bass are opportunistic feeders.....if its there and presented right they will feed. Now there are times when all the conditions come together and they all seem humgry but as a rule you do have to find the active fish to be successful.....or you have to learn how to force feed them.

Okay yes they will bite at anytime. But the most active time I have noticed is when the sun go down below the treeline and casts a shadow on the water. This is when I get the most hits and see the most feeding swirls.

depends on the water temp to some degree.. if it is very warm 80+ they will more than likly bite early or after dark.. if it is 55-70 they feed the most during this temp.
45-55 mid morning on.. 30-45 late afternoon in to eveing.. 25-30 late after noon till early eveing -only on sunny days.. i think the colder the water gets the less fish feed. kind a like a snake for example a large snake may eat 1-2 times in october and not eat again till late febuary.. i belive this is also true with most cold blooded animals.. i have only 12 snakes sitting in there respective cages behind me right now.

that cold water brings is that you dont have to worry about conditions, just use some plastics and fish them slow, and slower, and slower.i think they get far away than normal from cover too.they dont have to worry about something attacking them except us fellow anglers

wait i remember,it was a web site. it said the 4 stages of a bass.presapawn, spawn, postspawn and dormancy and then after dormancy it said in parentheses only lakes that get 40 and below.me thinkin that dormancy would mean they would not eat, just like hibernation. aww well
