Question About Rapala Lures

Okay, I have a floating Balsa Jointed j-7. It floats up amazingly quick. Here is my question, I have heard of people using them as twitchbaits on light tackle or 6-8lb test I should say. So, what is the correct way to twitch, I have never used this technique, so I am guessing you reel in or pop it for a while. Any answers are appreiciated.

use it kind of like you would a jerk bait but dont jerk it as hard. they work well like that i have found. they are fun to fish. if i am river fishing and i am anchored someitmes i will just let it wiggle at the end of my line behind the boat. ive caught several fish like that.

and dont let it set long reel some in between the twitches

both work well~

If you want that stick bait to suspend up slower instead of the popup, you can buy Suspend Dots, they have adhesive on one side and havea silver grey circle that you can experiment with to slow the bouancy.
Ya have to put several to notice any dif, plus you have to figure out where to put them along the underside to keep it level.
I usually put one up front , one in the middle, one near the rear, then repeat if its not suspending or popping up to fast,
Another tip is if you have a fav lure and color, buy another and put the weights on it , so you'll have your fav, but doing two dif things..it pays off...

Thanks, that's just something I never even thought of while buying cranks. I just buy them based on what depth they say, but now I realize my error

I do have some favorite cranks in different depths, becuase I didn't use this method, now I can be even more versatile.

Personally I have better luck with jointed lures when twitching, but more importantly brighter colors seem to work better for me. I use firetiger and chrome colors when I twitch them mostly.

herres a Quick tip,dont buy rapalas,ther not werth the money yeah they might catch a couple of fish but i could buy something cheaper and get better results. like a strike king bleeding crank, i caught more fish than on one of these,than i caught on all of the rapalas i used in my life

Rapala Balsa Lures are worth the money IMO. I am just experimenting with different retrieves. BTW why is everyone writing so friggin big?
