yep the first thing a guy should do when he buys a new boat is go out and take a rock and put that first scratch in her right away. i was so scared of scratching my boat when i first got her that i didn't catch near as many fish as i do now. don't get me wrong, i still take great care of my boat and she probably only has 2 or 3 little scratches in her but after that first one you just think oh well it's gonna happen and then it doesn't bother you to get into places you would have stayed away from before.

We call them dings and scratches-- battle scars.
