First BIG fish of the year!!!
This is a 6lb fish, but it looks a lot bigger. I caught this fish on a Buckeye Mop Jig (1/2) in about 10-12 feet of water on Lake Murray. It was near a dock that was around rocks. This is my first big jig fish. the water temp was about 53 degrees and my dad and I were just scouting around for a tornament in a couple weeks. We meybe fished for 45 minutes all day.
That picture makes it look about 10 pounds, but this picture makes it look a little more realistic... That fish was all we caught but i had a smile on for the rest of the day. (date is 2-8-09) That fish is the reason i have so much fun. It was a beautiful day since it has warmed up to around 70 for the last 2 days after it was in the teens for a couple of the nights before, which is almost unheard of down here. |

Sorry i couldnt figure out how to scale down the photos since it was emailed from my dad'd blackberry. The computer was having issues moving it to a different file and then downsizing and still being able to copy and paste it.

She's a beauty!
Interesting, I've noticed the same deformed tail section on other bass lately too. ~Mark |

Yeah i noticed the tail too when i was out on the lake and i thought there is no way she is bedding, even though she was really chunky.... so i looked at her tail and it was healed over... so im guessing that is from last year... it had hardened around the area and i could tell it hadnt just happened.... im so glad the pictures worked
