Coach Robinson and I graduated from different colleges and different high schools in different decades. Given society's attitudes in those days, I doubt we'd have been permitted to attend the same schools.

Unlike the nut case at Texiz Tek (former coach at Outdiana) Coach Robinson remained a gentleman and inspiration-by-example throughout his entire life.

He belongs in the same Pantheon of Heros as Bud Wilkinson, Bear Bryant, Col. Red Blaik, and a very few others.

Take a moment and read about the guy...worth it.

JB, football is the only sport that really matters.

Its a sad day in many ways, but its also part of life. Alzheimers is a devastating disease. He was probably ready.

Coach Bryant said he would croak in a week after retirement. In actuality it took only 6 weeks following his last game and he was dead. Sometimes people are ready, especially when they have done so much...and are left with little else to do.

It is a shame he nevers gets mentioned with the "great" coaches but I truely belive he belongs in the same breath. Great coach but seemed like a even better man.
