Default South Florida Bass & Peacock Bass Fishing 4-24-08

It's been great in South Florida for largemouth and peacock bass this week. We've boated 120 bass in the South Florida Everglades and 44 peacock bass in Miami. We are new here and hope everybody will enjoy these reports which are honest and straight forward. If anybody needs any information on fishing South Florida please e-mail me at floridafishing@bellsouth.net .

Welcome aboard, it's always great to have new people from new places... We have our share of Florida guys and I know you'll have some of us drooling over those peacocks!!

I love when peacocks lose their stripes (means their 4lbs or heavier). Nice fish.

Question Peacocks Losing stripes?

Interesting how they lose their stripes in Florida but in Brazil some of the big ones have the most distinctive stripes and markings.

Thats because those are a different species. We have Butterfly Peacocks in FL. The larger ones in Brazil are Speckled Peacocks.

Default More than just that Speckled?

Jason there are multiple species in Brazil including butterflies. That's were butterflies came from is Brazil. The big peacocks with the big stripes are not speckled, this is a speckled. There are somewhere between 3 and 8 different species according to biologists who still can't come to an agreement on the exact number of species? I take people to Brazil to fish for the GIANTS!
