Football head jigs are best used with twin tail grubs and hula-grubs. Baits with more mass and bulk. Your best jigs for the Shakey head are the Trademark jigheads of that name, "Giggy" heads by Gambler Baits or any smaller ball head jig with a screw lock spring or appendage for attaching the worm head. My absolute heaviest Shakey or Giggy head is 1/4 oz, I normally use 1/8 to 3/16 oz,. You will still lose a few around rocks and trash, but not nearly so many.

Here is a eBay store that has a pretty good variety and price on jig heads. Also, Strike King makes a good Football head with Gammakatsu hook up to 3/8 oz I used a lot last winter with Finesse Worms.

Default Thunderstruck Jigs

Jim,

DO order those jigs! I ordered about six of them and absolutely love them! They have an awesome fall and lay true as can be on the bottom. Overall great jig...

As for shakey head jigs, go with the Picasso Shake-E-Football. They come in tons of sizes and colors and lay perfect on the bottom.
