I'd like to pick up a couple more floating lipless crankbaits such as a rattletrap. I have one now which I found a few years back, but I have been unable to find any more since then. With all the makers of lipless cranks now days, I would expect to find a few somewhere. But no luck so far. I have had better success with my floating rattletrap than I have my sinking models. My dream lipless crank would be a suspedning model. Now that would be the cats meyow!!!

My floating Rat'L'Trap is also my facorite of my lipless crankbaits. I bought mine at BPS. The first time I went there, they were completely sold out. The next time (the time I got mine) they weren't separated form the rest of the Traps, they were Just mixed in so you gotta look good. To date, BPS is the only place I have found floating ones.

Hope this helps you find some!

Dawg!
I've got a couple suspending traps - 1/2 oz. Rat-L-Trap makes them. Check out if GreenTop in Ashland,VA has them. If you can't find them contact me because I don't throw throw them and would be willing to swap them. And you would think with all the grass I fish I'd throw them all the time.

I have a few from a local store that sells the red zone, and the floating ones... they are a darn good bait when you need to run a lipless crankbait really shallow...

Thanks guys. I guess they are available. I thought maybe they had been discontinued since no one around here, including our new BPS store has any. I don't even see any in the BPS or Cabelas catalog. Next time I'm at the BPS store, Gander Mountain and Dicks, I think I will mention it to the dept manager and see if they will get some.

I noticed several Floating Rat-L-Traps at the local Academy the other day.

KD - I wouldn't rely on BPS to have much of anything anymore. They're more interested in selling you other stuff i.e. "junk" - see George Carlin - than fishing gear. Their stock, stores and online, is very limited compared to other online sights.
