bb, that's one of those situations where it all comes down to trial and error. Vary your retrieve until the fish tell you what they want.
There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to fishing. We have to figure out what the fish want. That's why they call it fishing and not catching .

This is what I do.... I throw it out....let it sink....nothing hits...hop it once... twice.... sit... again.... then slowly swim it out shaking it....I can see if the bass are on the tree, its roots or suspended out from the tree in one pitch....but like Reb said you are going to have to experiment! When you get some bites pay attention and then just do what you did to catch them instead of all this other stuff....

For example, in real clear water I usually throw a 3/16 oz finesse jig in a natural color-watermelon, green pumpkin and black/blue. Stained/muddy water I use a bigger bait to move more water and make it easier for the fish to find.

It's the "pig" part of a jig-n-pig. Although in this case it is a plastic chunk rather than real pork skin where it got it's name.
When you fish a rubber skirted jig it is almost always fished with a trailer of some kind. You can use a variety of soft plastics. I use different ones depending on the water temp. Below 50 I like to use real pork-Uncle Josh is probably the most widely used. 50-65 I use a plastic chunk like a Zoom chunk or Yum chunk. Above 65 I like to use something that moves. I usually use the bottom half of a Zoom brush hog, and on a finesse jig I like a Tiny Paca Craw.

can other lures like senkos and C rigs be pitched and flipped?

i flip weightless senkos but a c-rig cant as the weight and lure are about a foot or more apart, it would just be impractical, best off using a t-rig if you want weight

Thats, what I was gonna say. For pitching a senko, get a already weighted hook, like this.
http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...rTarget=browse I reccomend this one more though http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...=SearchResults you can get em at walmart

those kinda ruin the action of a senko unless you;re using it as a jerkbait, if you want weight i reccomend putting roofing nails or lead strips in the end of the senko, or you can peg the sinker with a toothpick instead of getting those hooks with it stuck there

The first one doesn't, but I use the second one fro deadsticking, and jerkbait fishing a tiki stick.
