Great pics Keith. I'm definitely excited for fall and all the colors it brings.
It doesn't look like we'll be getting out in the boat again this year, but maybe some shore fishing. BB

Not winterizing is one thing I'm really looking forward to this year. In the past I fished until I couldn't break the ice anymore with my boat!
I've been out a lot recently in Michigan and somedays are good while others are tough. Hopefully your next trip out is on a good day Keith. |

Your guys' wives have probably learned its cheaper to let you go fishing than for you do be at home browsing tackle shops online!

Well, my wife says it's better than me hanging out at the bar, going to the gambling boats, I don't smoke or do drugs, better than having an affair or getting into trouble with the cops. Plus she gets to eat a nice plate of fried bass in the end.

Well, this comming saturday, the 23rd, my wife wants me to get out one more day. Sounds great, cept it's supposed to be in the low 30's with rain in the afternoon. brrrrrrrr I bet I'm just crazy enough to try it. But the lake is only a couple minutes from home, so I can always get back home pretty quickly. One last stab at those bass with my new Pro Qualifier sounds really good to me. And I'd love to hook into a nice pike! But despite the lake having pike, they arn't often caught. If I do go, here is my plan.
Rod #1, Spinnerbait #2 Pig n jig #3 Weedless spoon for working the pads, deadly this time of year! #4 Rattlin Zara Spook #5 Pointer 100 #6 Medium crank #7 Deep crank I figure I should have most bases covered. Not sure what the water temp is, but it's been dropping into the 30's and 40's at night for 2-3 weeks now. Might add another rod rigged for soft jerk baits, but not sure. It gets pretty crowded in a 12 foot jonboat. Senko style baits never have produced well for me in this lake which is odd since another lake a stones throw away has produced on soft stick baits. But the two lakes are different as night and day. |

You may be right. Mine figured out over twenty years ago that her favorite place for me to be is anywhere but where she is.

Well o'le buddy, I did it. It was much warmer than expected. In the low 50's at daybreak. Cloudy with showers off and on. Got a few bass, and 3 pike. Actually, landed one pike. The first one came off at the boat. The third pike cut my line as I was reaching for him and swam away with a brand new Bandit 100 down deep in his throat. But it was all worth it. Had enough action to keep it interresting and brought home some meat for the table. I sure wish you could have gotten out as well. Maybe soon?

Well, it's not the greatest pic since I took it with my cell phone, but here are the last two fish for 2010, unless I snag one from shore on a lark. They are gonna taste good fried up this friday night!
