Default Potomac

Had our tourney on Saturday and out of the 15 boats only 2 boats caught ANY fish, and I wasn't one of them. There is so much debris floating in that place and fishing was just slow and painful.

I was the unfortunate soul, stuck with a hard headed boater who liked to fish "memories". But, Capt I appreciated your help.

Should have listened to the Capt.!!!!

I've found that mornings on the Potomac on the Fourth weekend is good until around 11:00 AM. Most people (bass fishermen) don't venture out on the river and the big wake boys are sleeping in. It's a good time to get on the river and fish.

I'll be out this weekend and next. Keep us updated on the conditions!!!!

ID:	534You should have gone out four days later Hef. Caught several today on the river. Really muddy, rained half the time, still lots of debris, but fun

So you went out of Fort Washington. That really limits your posibilities. But I would have done the unexpected. Tubes with tiny brass slip sinker on every pole in the marina. Fill the tube with craw oil and use an HP hook so you can change tubes. The wood poles toward the river side of the marina hold good fish at every tide change.

The huge amount of flotsin has cost me an engine in that area before. So I just go to closest spot and fish it smart.

Thats basicaly what we did. Just couldn't find the fish, oh and the tide really didn't help. The tourney director needs his arse kicked for this one.

Default Tides are important

Here is a link to a quality tide chart. Make the tourny director memorize it.
