Default Scented baits

Do they really make a difference? and if so, how far away can the bass smell the lure from?

it is more a taste than smell. if it taste like a sweat sock would you eat it?? but if it tasted like cholate cake would you eat it?? same basic thing with scents. you add them to cover up the taste of your sweaty hands. and add a flavor they like -i have no idea why garlic works but it does- they normally will bite the bait better-this is important if using large worm baits-..

I would say it is important, no doubt about it. 99% of the orders I take on my site, are scented. Customers have the option of scent, what scent, or none. They all choose scent.

It does make a difference-if anything they mask a scent the fish doesn't want. At the very least I have more confidence when I use one.

I think they work, for reasons mentioned above. I'm also a smoker, and a heavy user of scents to cover that up

two heaping tablespoons of garlic powder, one teaspoon salt, mixed into two cups hot tapwater.....pour some in each baggie of soft plastics, reseal the baggie and float in a sink of hot tapwater for twenty minutes. Drain off excess water from each pack and let set overnight.

Was it Creme that made the banana scented worms? May not be Creme but I have a pack somewhere. For some reason bass like banana and garlic. One day I'm going to rig up a banana peel and rub it with garlic and catch a bass.

I believe it was Mister Twister that had the banana scented worms.

I use Berkely Power worms because the fish will hold on to a scented worm longer. Helps with hook ups that way.

fish hear/feel the lure, see the lure, smell the lure, and then taste the lure. so its not as important as hearing/feeling or seeing.

haha, the first few times i went fishing i brought a snack... some fruits, including a banana. i used to attribute my skunkage to that. but heck if everyone else says bananas are bad luck, then sure, its not a big deal... i can stick to apples.
