Default Reel Oil

I have just recently got into the baitcasting scene, about 2 months now. I bought some reel oil the other day, because i want to take care of my reel. Being new to this, i dont know where all it sholud be applied. So thats my question, where all should i apply the reel oil, i know the bearings, but where else.

The bearings are the only place I use it. Otherwise I use grease on the gears. When I get back to my home computer I'll post a link for reel maintenance.

I love to tear into a PC tower and pull out everything from the drives right down to the cpu, but when it comes to those teenie weenie pieces inside a baitcaster, that's where my confidence takes a back seat to my pocket book. I send all my reels to the pro's and pay the 15.00 or so for cleaning and or repair.

I use Wurth HHS 2000 or S&R Penn Lube. HHS is a spray on grease, penn lube is a light oil. Air tool oil for impact tools works good too. If the insides are tarnished or gummed up Ill use some marvel mystery.

Gotta go with Zooker, Hot sauce is the best. One thing I do that's a little off the wall. When I go into some down time I open up the reels and run them through hot water. This gets rid of some of the old grease and debris that may accumalate.
