How about a rec for a value priced, 2/3 piece rod?
Looking for something in the 100 dollar range that breaks down so I can fit it in my trunk. Need something versatile enough to handle occasional crankbaits but mainly to pair with a baitcaster for top water and spinner bait use. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

These are only a tad above your price range:

Check out Cabelas Fish Eagle II casting rod, model GC663-2. It's a 2 piece 6 1/2ft MH rod. I have a Fish Eagle rod and I'll tell ya what, it's been a good rod for many years. And at $79.99 you can't beat it.

Take a look at either Shimano's compre or clarus lines, or some of the house brand models from Cabelas or BPS. I have 2 pieces from the clarus and compre lines and a very sweet Cabela's magtouch rod that serve me as my trunk rods. The clarus and magtouch are casting models, 6'6" and 7' respectively. The magtough looks awesome and I have caught both smallmouth and pink salmon with it. Check them out.

Just pulled the trigger at BPS on a Browning three piece MH Fast Action 7'. Hundred bucks with the case. Added a Revo S baitcaster, 10lb mono. And a Motorguide variable speed 45 lb trolling motor, new plano box, and some crawfish, senkos and cranks. ("All for a hundred bucks honey")
Now I'm just sitting here waiting for 4 free hours and a mild day!
