Default Funding the Addiction!

I don't know about most of you but I'm not a Millionaire. I make a decent living, after building houses for others for many years, built myself a new modest house in the woods a few years back. I have several hobbies, one was collecting tobacco pipes and premium tobaccos. A rather expensive hobby. Hunting, not as expensive any more. I have some great hunting land and my guns are all in great condition. Fishing, a ongoing craving for new and better gear! It hurts to look at the gear websites. I look like a alcoholic looking for a drink when walking through Cabela's or Bass Pro. I spent quite a bit of money this year on a few new rod and real combo's, new trolling motor and fish finder, fixing up and painting the older bass boat. I am at the point that the wife is starting to give me the LOOK, when I mention how awesome that rod is. My ADDICTION is starting to show when I sit and think how I can pull off JUST ONE MORE combo. I started to run out of " schemes", when the doctor helped me out. I was diagnosed with throat cancer last January, had surgury and radiation. The Doc said, NO MORE PIPES> I figure I have 180 lbs of premium pipe tobacco's aging in mason jars. Fine tobacco gets better when aged and stored in jars in the cellar, just like wine. The light bulb went on. I could sell and trade tobacco's for some pretty awesome gear! I am a gear addict! I admit it. Wonder if they have a group for that. Then I realized, they do, I'm writing a thread for one! Anyone else this bad out there!I will start to plan a pipe and tobacco auction, while I look through the year end sales at Bass Pro.

I have contemplated selling some guitar equipment to get more gear... but my guitar monkey is bigger than my tackle monkey... and they both fear my gun monkey... So I just do what they all collectively tell me and keep my mouth closed...

I can definitely relate. I've spent way more than I should have on tackle this year... (see below)

But look on the bright side, there's always other more addicted than you!

That's just part of fishing man, we all deal with the same sickness lol. One thing that I think makes it easier for us to splurge on tackle is although baits aren't cheap, they are just cheap enough that we can justify buying a few of this and a few of that.

The only part of the addiction we can help is helping you choose what to buy next!

I know the feeling. I'm pretty sure I've funded a few vacations for somebody with what I've spent on rods, reels and tackle this year.

Are you kidding? The best you can hope for out of this group is a heads up on where the best deals are.
