in clear water it is one of my favorite colors.... man ive caught a lot of fish on a motor oil worm in clear water. i dont know why it is good but im guessing its because it doesnt have a distinct outline and looks more natural but thats just a guess.

I've found that the best time for me to use Motor Oil is when the water is very clear, but has a dark red/orange color to it - kind of like ice-tea.

Great, sound like it an all round color for all water clarity. Had a friend that landed a lunker on these color in extremely murky water. I wasn't sure how it would in clear water.
Gonna add it to my shopping list. Thanks.

motor oil is one of the best colors ever, and it is great in clear water. berkley discontinued motor oil on the 10" powerworms, they still sell motor oil with red flake but not just plain motor oil. and they have regular motor oil in the 7" but not the 10". from time to time you can find them on ebay but the price is usually pretty high.

There was a time when Motor oil was my go-to color (late 80s and early 90s). This was before most brands had the fancy colors like green pumpkin and watermelon candy. Interestingly, I recently purchased some soft plastics in motor oil. Sometimes the old is new again.
