Last year Fenwick was domestic
Does anyone know the last year that Fenwick was made in USA? I used to love their rods and still have a couple from the 80's...I came across an estate sale offering a dozen or so that were supposed to have been purchased new in '98. Surely that must have been pre "Pure Fishing"??

I know that Berkley acquired Fenwick in 1988 and became Outdoor Tecnologies group, and then in 2000, Outdoor Technologies group became Pure Fishing.

Hey T5 Thanks for the info. I knew(looked up) those ownership change dates but I was hoping to find out what year production went overseas. I know that sometimes when a company gets bought nothing really changes at "ground" level.....other times everyone from maintenance up gets a pink slip and within days its Made in China. For some reason this is hard intel.

You could try email Fenwick!
Worst thing that can happen is they won't email you back!
