Default Happened 3 times this morning

I cast a t-riged worm out, let it sit for a minuet, don't see the line move, so I say to myself, I'll twitch it a few times. Feels like it's hung up in weeds, so I pull to free it from the weeds. I feel a fish, set the hook, to late, no fish.
I know, setting the hook doesn't cost anything, so always set the hook if you think a fish may be there. But my old brain just won't tell me do it.
It must be because of the light rain today? The fish are picky, and not hitting, and running.
Had fun anyway, and landed a few small ones.

I'd try letting it fall on a tighter line. Maybe you could feel the pickup.

It may just be bluegill. They have a habit at picking up the tails of the baits and running with them. and they're suprisingly strong.

Don't feel bad, amigo-I have the same problem on occasion. I KNOW I missed a good fish on a jig a few winters back due to thinking it was hung up on weeds and not setting the hook.

Either blue gill or other tiny fish, even baby bass.

Swings are free, if you even halfway think you feel a fish set the hook. The worst that can happen is we pull up a bunch of grass
Also you may consider a more sensitive line ie. flourocarbon. All my plastic's are fish on flouro unless I'm using braid for flipping.

another thing to consider is when a jig or texas rigged worm hits a tree limb it sometimes will slide downwards on the limb and the line appears to be taking a run, just like a bass, I agree, swings are free, ya aren't out anything if ya miss....it teaches you in the long run to be a line watcher.
