Default Concerts

I was thinking about this after talking to MrP. on the music thread.

If you could see any band or person in concert, who would it be?

There's a few bands I'd love to see, but if I could see any band, It'd have to be Queen.

i have no idea.

depending on the music.

I think dragonforce would be a very intense show, but for old rock, queen or AC/DC

The Beatles would be cool to see, just to say i saw them.

I would like to see Toad the Wet Sprocket. Unfortunately, they disbanded a while back, but occasionally do a few gigs out in California. Unfortunately, I never seem to time my visits to Cali just right.

Hey...this thread got me thinking...and I just found out Toad will be in St. Louis this month! I'm going to do what I have to do to make that show. No telling how many more there will be.

The who, in their instrument smashing heyday would have been awesome. I'd love to see the smashing pumpkins, and there's a bunch of country acts I'd like to see.

I've already seen the bands I thought I'd never see in concert.
Saw the rolling stones twice, and Ozzy a couple times. Actually there's only one person I'd just about kill to see and never have... BB. King.
If those that have died can be included, I'd love to see SRV.

As far as national acts go, I've seen KISS (when I was eight! lol), Van Halen, Metallica (twice), Kingdom Come, Dokken, Y&T, Rush, Primus, David Bowie, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Motley Crue, The Cult, Scorpions, The Who. I missed seeing a lot of my favorites like Iron Maiden, Queensryche, and Toad.

OK who is Tim McGraw and Faith Hill?

Yes I have seen Zepp two nights in a row at Cap Center in DC and Pink Floyd four times. Two in DC and once in Phili and once in Quest Hampton Roads.

At the Phili Pink Floyd at soldier field my wife and I where at the porta pottie line and these two drunk teen girls asked if they had Floyd around when we where growing up..

I have seen the Stones four times. ZZ top six times. Queen twice. Frank Zappa twice. Alice Copper twice. Devo three times. B-52s twice. Jefferson Starship once and Starship once. Soft White Underbelly once and Blue Oyster Cult maybe six times. Saw Robin Trower twice. Little Feat each weekend in 75 I think. So many more my ears ring.. Oh I forgot Wings and Fleetwood Mac and Kiss and Yes and Targus and Rod Stewart(forced)

Saw Motley Crew , Lesly West, Lynard Skynard, Terrible Ted Nuggent, The Boss , George Thourlygood, System of the Down, StiX , I am sure there is more that my brainal cavity can scratch up..

But I have never been to a Jimmy Buffett concert. I need to do that.. IT IS ON MY BUCKET LIST.

If it could be anyone, I would have to pick a show that is impossible. The original Beatles for instance. Maybe Floyd or Nirvana.

But if the members gotta be alive, Smashing Pumpkins circa 1995 would be the only answer for me. The perfect mix of metal, shoegaze, alternative and prog rock pretentiousness.

My Daughters saw the Pumkins at HFS Summerfest.

I felt I would be the overbearing parent so I just escorted them there.

But I listen from the parking lot.. does that count?

I was usually too busy playing my own gigs to go see other bands, otherwise I would have seen more.

I play any kind of guitar...or used to. I played bass in my last, most successful band. I've always thought it was kind of sad to see guys in their 40's trying to rock out with the kids though, so I pretty much hung it up.
