where in central florida? florida is a long skinny state, therefore central florida is a rather large area. you got orange lake, rodman, oklawaha river, st. johns, lake george, hundreds of lakes in the ONF, toho, stickmarsh, lake panasofske, and countless others, just depends how far you wanna drive. shiners and minnows almost always catch fish.

check out rodman reservoir, st. johns river, and lake george. you're in a good location for some excellent bass fishing.

Palm coast is about an hour downwind of me. Really northern florida, but like rodman said, Rodman, George and the st. johns are good. Another thing is, in this area, any water holds fish. If your neighborhood has ponds, fish those. Anywhere you go, you've got a shot at catching nice fish.

lures depend on the conditions. its always smart to match the hatch (use something that resembles what the fish are eating), and shiners, minnows, and bluegills are the main forage for bass around here. worms and flukes almost always produce fish.

Ummm... I know this is a bass fishing website, but if you live in palm coast, defenitely don't pass up some great red fishing and trout in the intracoastal.

Tough Lake, but some good size bass can be had there. The Gators are monstrous too Spinnerbaits have been the best bet with plastics/jigs pitched into the heavy cover being second. I fished this lake Sunday from 7am till 1pm when the thunderboomers comae in and did not get a bite. Me and my partner fished hard, and lots of stuff only to have him miss 2 bites, and catch a dink. We talked to a couple of folks who fished a tourney, and they quit at 1pm instead of 3 pm becuase the fishing was so tough. Now I would never do that, but they did fish this lake regularly. The water level is down about 2'-3', so it's really hard to fish from shore, you can't get to anything deeper than 1-2 feet from shore with the water being down so much. try to fish with the tide so you can get some water movement. Good fishing, I couldn't figure it out with my partner fishing it 2 Sundays in a row. We caught a 2-3 last Sunday, and a couple of mudfish.

Never fished crescent. It seems like you either love or hate the st. johns and theres not much of an inbetween. I know people than can fish out there and catch loads of big bass, but I also know people who have fished it several times and have gotten skunked. I guess you just have to know the places and what to use.

If you want a bit of a run up the St. Johns, definitely fish Julington and black creek, and Doctors lake. Up north, most of the bass frequent creeks, and saltwater fish hang in the main river, although you can pull some bigguns under bridges.

I actually swear by 4-6 inch lizards when in the St Johns and the lakes connected to it. I fish Lk Washington pretty regularly and always do well w/ LIZARDS. No weight, varying retreives. Usually I cast, give a couple cranks and let it sink. During the sink I will twitch the tip. Gives the lizard a struggling look. Most fish hit during this.

Head out from the nearest boat ramp, fire up the big engine, cruise till you find a good looking creek, then put the TM down and fish to the sides.

Gotta agree w/ bassman on that. I look for a canal or finger, stay right there if theres a flow or move into it working the banks through the vegetation. Of course the St Johns gets big and wide up there. Down here it's narrow and snakes all over the place.

Sorry, let me reword that for the weaker at heart. Down in my area the St Johns loops back and forth, like a partially uncoiled rope. That better Liz??
