Default Bait monkey put me in a Full Nelson

We went to Bass Pro today and I went the distance with the monkey, but he TKO'd me.

Baby Brush Hogs:
Green Pumpkin Green - 3 bags

Super Chunks:
PB&J - 3 bags
Black - 3 bags

Super Chunk Jr:
Green Pumpkin Blue - 4 bags
Black - 3 bags
PB&J - 3 bags

Gene Larew Biffle Bugs:
Blackberry - 3 bags
Sooner Run - 3 bags

Gene Larew Hardheads:
5/16oz - 3 packs

Bass Pro Tournament Series River Bug:
Black/Blue Flake - 5 bags
Dark melon/Purple-Gold Flake - 5 bags
Greenpumpkinseed - 5 bags

Strike King KVD 1.5 Squarebill crankbaits:
Sexy Blueback Herring - 2
Chart Shad - 1

Strike King Series 1 Squarebill crankbait:
Chartreuse Shad - 3

Strike King Series 4S:
Firetiger - 3

Lucky Craft Kelly-J:
Aurora Black - 1
Chartreuse Shad - 1

And I bought 4 packs of spinnerbait blades for some spinnerbaits I am getting ready to make for slow rolling this spring, as well as an inflatable life jacket.

I wanted to get some more of the KVD 1.5's but it was not a suprise to me that they were pretty well sold out. For the record I didn't buy these baits because the Classic was won on it, I bought them because I was wanting some more squarebills and I really liked the profile of these baits.

I have been making a big attempt this winter to stock up on all the softplastics that I use a lot so that I can keep 2 few bags in the boat of each bait/color and 5 more of each bait/color on the pegboard in the garage. This way when I go through a bag in the boat then I can replace it with a bag out of the garage. Once a month I will go over the pegboard and do an inventory to see what I need to get back to having 5 bags of each bait/color and restock. This way I will make a list of exactly what I need and will help me cut down on impulse buys while I am standing in the store trying to remember what I need. It will also keep me from buying bags of baits that I thought I needed only to find that I had 3 more bags in the boat that I didn't know I had overlooked. This all started with making a list of all of these baits for Christmas and birthday presents, and then buying what I didn't get for presents in a few trips. I am pretty close to having all of the baits on my list now. A few colors of Speed Craws and Brush hogs and I should be set.

Congrats on all the new tackle Kory. I really like your little toy truck in the top of the picture too! (now you all watch, he'll tell us it's Lake's!)

Tried the Tatsu yet? TW has a buy two spools of AbrasX and get a free 40yd sample spool of Tatsu. Makes we want a couple spools of AbrasX. (More than I normally do, lol).

No I haven't tried the Tatsu yet. I actually ordered the Seaguar through a buddy who can get it for me at dealer cost. I seen that Tackle Warehouse that that deal going but in all honesty what good would a 40 yard spool of Tatsu do? I mean you could use it as leader material but I don't see any point in that.

That is a great haul! Was this a trip to bps that it was easier to ask to be forgiven or did you have permission for the small purchase?

I had permission. Britney was actually with me. Then when we checked out she said "well that wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be". I looked at Lake and said "sounds like permission to go back and get some more", then Britney said "nope, now we can go to the mall".

You got a good wife there! Most would not have said that! Hopefully the mall was not too painful for you.

Sounds like you have a good woman there Kory. Thats a great haul! I needed some square bill cranks this year and bought some LC's and a couple Strike Kings too. But I also bought 3 of the Excaliber square bills. Can't wait to try those out. The Excalibers look great to me.

The life jacket was on sale for $159.99. That was a relief because I was planning on buying it anyways and it's usually $189.99.

That's the way to do it if you've got connections like that.

The only use I could see for a 40yd spool would be on a reel strictly for pitching.

And WHO's happier than Kory about that? At least he should be that he isn't sitting on a branch of the Sasquatch Family Tree, like a couple of us that shall ( see I know where to use "shall" in it's proper context) remain nameless.
