need help bad!!!!!

we have a bassmasters regional finals at smith lake in al we fished for 2 days and only caught 7 fish total. we tried shakey heads , spinner baits top water carolina rig and nothing not sure about the nlake that was the first time there and wish it was the last!!!lol!!!any tips would be of great help!thanks

Don't know the lake but here is some general advise that I was given and it seems to help, especially this time of year. Start in the very back and work your way out to the main lake points. Make sure you cover the secondary points good. Parallel the bank in several different zones to help locate the fish. When you find some, stay with them. Also sometimes you just need to slow down. I know you did shakey head and carolina rigs but try a jig worked very slowly or a creature bait or trick stick.
Hope this helps, I know it is hard to do during a tournament but it should help save on the run and gun method. Find the bait fish and the bass won't be far behind in the fall.

only fished there once and we caught some good fish around Goat Island. Topwater early and white spinnerbaits on up in the day.

i have fished there alot this year.you are using the right things just gotta find um like all the rest of us. We have been focusing on the points lately

hey steve.. smith lake is an extremily CLEAR and DEEP and COLD water lake. you'll need to to get you a few BIG worms. and fish em slow pal. grew up fishing it as a kid. and we ALWAYS caught bass on worms. fishing REAL slow. it can get un nerving cause it takes alot of time. also, find the little mounds with drop-offs and try a pig n jig.

you could try drop shotting finesse worms or centipedes. another alternatvie would be watermelon red trick worms or whatever color works best in that lake
