The baitmonkey gets spanked

As most of you know,I'm an old fart.Used to fish club tourneys and some locals.Never made it further than a federation 6 man team.Anyway I have a hellalot of bass fishing experience.
So I haven't fished tourneys for a few years,but I fish usually 3 or 4 times a week.And a lot of my tackle has been just sitting in boxes because I only use a few baits.I've managed to work all that junk I had been carrying around into basically 2 plano 3700's.
These are the baits I throw 99% of the time.
4" red shad power worm can be rigged many different ways.
5" red shad senkos,another versatile bait.
Pink Pop'r'
White spinnerbait
Black jig
Zoom 4" chartreuse/black fleck grub

I also have a couple zook'n'steins just in case
I've managed to beat the baitmonkey.Over the winter I order 200 or 300 4" worms and 100 or so senkos,and whatever terminal tackle I'll need.
Once in a while I pick up another rod at wallyworld or a used symmetre on e-bay.
I've turned into a real cheapskate when it comes to tackle.But it's funny because I still catch hellotta bass.
Just figured I'd post this to maybe help somebody else escape the clutches of the baitmonkey.

You purchased, over the winter, 200 or 300 4 inch worms and 100 senkos ... where´s the "spankin´" ?

The Monkey still managed to make you purchase 300-400 baits, so the fact that he made you purchase 300-400 baits at once instead of doing it throughout the year doesn´t mean you spanked him, he beat you once good and left you in comatose state until you run out of baits, time about when you are going to wake up just for him to beat you up good and return you to comatose state again until winter next year.

My friend, there´s nothing wrong in being a BM victim, but you won´t win anything by denying it, accept it and it will be less painful.

You don't understand.I spent about $130 on that stuff.It'll last me almost through the next season.I used to spend that amount just about every week.I whupped the monkeys butt.

I only use the bait monkey as an excuse. Kinda outgrew the whole "devil made me do it" song and dance
So I guess I loves me some bait monkey!

Hey you, You may be like me..I think I'm like most. I love my tackle. I have stuff that I have bought and say I'll try that next time I go out. but I always stick with the tackle I'm used to.

Im not sure thats the problem. At one time, I had my kiln up to 960 and couldnt get any of my silver glass to stay silver. I lowered the temp to 940 and have no problems with any of the silver glasses now. Raku is no problem either. I cant imagine that this one glass is different from all of my other glass. I also use a lot of 96 glass and never have a problem. Is there anything else you can think of? Do you use a lot of Chalcedony and what temp do you anneal at?Thanks

I have been doing pretty good at keepin the bait monkey at bay the last few months.. my only issue is im getting my arse kicked by the boat monkey now, lol

The monkey is still working on me. But after my next splurge on a couple of more reels and rods, I'm going to stop. I just need a quality baitcaster with mono and spinning reel with mono. My two top reels baitcast and spinning reel are laced with braid.

I'm kind of like Tom, but I wouldn't say I beat the baitmonkey. More like he already kicked my butt big time and I don't really need a lot of stuff, just replace the stuff I go through. Like a crap load of Senkos.
