Default Loose Rivet Repair Experiences

A few days ago I finished up sealing all of my loose rivets with some 3m 5200. Then I painted over it with some standard aluminum paint. Filled her up with water and let it sit for a bit, didnt see a single drop. Now I wonder how well it will hold up at 45mph in the water.

Has anyone else done this? I'm only looking for a seasons worth of watertight repair as I intend to be in a newer boat next year. Please share your experiences with repairing your loose rivets so I know what to look for and expect, thanks!
