Default Bladed Jigs

I have never tried fishing with one, but I ordered a few to try out. I am going to replace the skirts and use different trailers to add some bulk. Anyone use them with any success?

I have a few of the Pure Poison chatterbaits (I think their discontinued)
I like fishing them and actually had a really good day awhile back with one using a LFT magic shad for a trailer.(Not the pure poison, but some that I make)
Never had much luck in the Summer with them,But Fall, and late Spring I did well.
Why are you changing the skirt?

I've had very good luck using them in early spring right after ice oout and up untill the water hits about 55 degrees. From then on I'm usually having better luck with spinnerbaits.

It just gives me options on colors that weren't available at tackle warehouse

I've picked up a few of the Strike King Pure Poison based on the recommendation of someone from a local fishing store, paired up with different plastic trailers, and no luck at all, tried on a handful of occasions

they were biting spinners those few times, but wanted nothing to do with these.

They work great in the grass.... btw, I custom make them and sell them 3 for $10 if you are interested... try using them without a skirt and add a swim bait as the trailer.... many of my customers say this works for larger bass

Here's a couple recent pics. I use a custom skirt and trailer on mine.

Thought this one was much bigger until I saw where it was hooked....

I tried them for the first time this spring and had good luck very slow rolling them. I did put a custom skirt on original Chatterbaits and Boyah Boogie Baits. For a trailer I use the back 2/3 of a Swim Senko upside down. And I can NEVER get bit on a spinnerbait. I haven't tried it much since the water is warm now.

You try using a 5:1 reel with them and really slow them down??? That's typically what I throw them on and seem to do very well when others don't. Might be a speed thing with the bait. Add a bulky trailer and that will slow things down a lot more.

I also notice that without the trailer the chatterbait bounces a lot more and is more erratic darting side to side.
