every one that has been on here has seen this , but since we have a bounty of new forum anglers, just thought I'd post about livin' in the great state of texas

, how do ya'all manage that heat?

YOU KNOW YOU ARE IN TEXAS IN JULY WHEN.

The birds have to use potholders to pull worms out of the ground.

The trees are whistling for the dogs.

The best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance.

Hot water now comes out of both taps.

You can make sun tea instantly.

You learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron!

The temperature drops below 95 and you feel a little chilly.

You discover that in July it only takes 2 fingers to steer your car.

You discover that you can get sunburned through your car window.

You actually burn your hand opening the car door.

You break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 a..m.

Your biggest bicycle wreck fear is, "What if I get knocked out and end up lying on the pavement and cook to death?"

You realize that asphalt has a liquid state.

The potatoes cook underground, so all you have to do is pull one out and add butter, salt and pepper.

Farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying boiled eggs.

The cows are giving evaporated milk. Ah, what a place to call home.

JB, I know I have been out of the loop for some time. I live in Northern Virginia and will be moving to Austin Texas. So be nice! LOL. It was '99 here the other day w/ %94 humidity......That put the sweat glands in high gear. Drank 3 gallons of water at work and made P'P' once. LOL. I love Texas. I still see the humor in your post....

All I can say is wade fishing in December in the bay with a Tee shirt so HA. Bass Fishin' November thru February in short sleeves. Ill sweat all summer to fish all winter anyday.

God blessed Texas with allot of open space, and we here in the mountains hold no grudges. We are pleased that Gods planed turned out that way. He gave you allot of bragging rights with all your wide open spaces and big sky’s. But when he got to West Va, I believe He realized there wasn’t allot of land to be used to build another beautiful flatland State. So what did he do? He took a small piece of land that was left over and piled it up high with many mountains and valleys, rivers and streams. And after the job was done, He did his calculations and came to a conclusion that there is more land per sq ft in Wv than in TX.. Although I’m a temp transplant, I can stand on my front porch ( about 1300 ft above sea level) and look down on Texas…. When you look up at night and see two stars twinkling at you, think of Polly Ann and Carpy. We love yea and God bless yea Texas!
