weakfish?
hey guys... after so, oh so much persuasion, i got my dad to take me fishing. of course he was hung up on crabbing... so we will be renting a boat on the navesink river. now i hear the navesink has amazing grey trout aka weakfish. does anybody have tips? i googled it but couldn't really find anything so great... the rigs they showed were like the size of my thumbnail and the descriptions were terrible... all i know is that ill need a three way swivel with a weight (they didnt even tell me how much!) two #6 hooks and a 2 and a half inch strip of squid on each... any tips would be great

Look for a mansfielsd hauler popping cork, use tint treble hooks and live shrimp if you can get them, Thats how we catch the specs down here anyways.

Depends on how big really. Mouth usually like tissue paper, dont set the hook like you would with a bass just pull the rod up or to the side. Dont get too rough till you know how big they are.

no giant hookset... do you know anything of how they take in the lure? like do they nibble or just gobble? if i wont be setting the hook should i use circle hooks to self set? ill probably put the drag on loose... and perhaps buy a ultralight combo, not too expensive.
