'Holding-On' Structure
While I was out on the water today, I got to thinking about how you successfully hold-on structure or breaks without drifting-off too far. Since I don't have a depth finder on the trolling motor, I can't really see my deothfinder from up there. I can stand on the back seat and use the hand control or foot pedal since my motor is wireless, but when using the hand 'fob', it's tough, especially when trying to look at the sounder, crankin' your rod, and holding on target all at the same time. I guess in simple terms, I am asking how you, or rather I, would hold-on structure without using a bow-mount depth finder.
Any ideas??? -Buzz |

my best advice...... I could not imagine fishing without my depthfinder up front. I would seriously think about what it would take for you to have one... if its money...there are some reasonable priced new or used units...If there is a personal reason you don't want one up front, you might want to reconsider.

Neither of those two, Bo.... Rather the reason of not-knowing that you have to buy the 'depth finder capable', MotorGuide Wireless trolling motor. We bought one without the built-in transducer and there is no way to run a wire down this shaft because it slides through a mounting bracket.

I see..................hence they make them with built in ducers......DAMN!@ you could hang one from the loop for your wench strap! sorry thats not funny... you could mount the depthfinder up front and the ducer on the hull and learn to adjust for what your seeing. that may not take a lot of getting used to.

Also... Too bad we already returned the depth finder. I was also thinking you could splice the two depth finders. Could you splice two different units, (Fish Mark 480 & Cuda 168)?
