Thumbs up Replaced my replacement today!!

Replaced my replacement on JV today!

Went to the doc today and got the cast off, x-rays showed good bone scare tissue and good healing. He finally cleared me to play, as long as I braced and wrapped my wrist, and suited up that day. Started O-guard which (I'm usually a tackle), and D-tackle. Played strong until about the end 3rd quarter where I was played Left Tackle after half time, and got my wrist jammed back toward. Sat out the rest of game, other then a few plays on D. I coulda kept going, but couch said he wanted to keep me good for varsity.

We lost 0-18, but felt real good to get back in the game after sitting out the whole season! Got one Varsity, and one JV game left to play the season, then it's time to hit the weight room hard!

Good to hear your back up and running. The old rule of thumb in football use to be that a starter never lost his position due to injury, once he was healthy the position was again his to loose. Glad your back on the field.

Hey man nothing wrong with moving to guard. I moved to guard my Junior year and loved. I was our main pulling guard so I got to blindside a lot people which is just fun. It is awesome.

Will do John. And thanks guys!

As soon as I get full range of motion back in wrist (and possible get physical therapy to make the process safer and faster), I'm planing on hitting the weight room hard, along with a few other guys. Or kicker, QB, and baseball pitcher is also gonna work out with us and work his legs along since he gonna try to try out for kicker at UW Madison (he averages about 50yrds, and he's made a 45 yard FG so far this year).

Sophomore year.

Got some bad news though.

In gym yesterday we had to do push ups, I thought without really thinking about it, "No big deal, I'll do knuckle push ups like I'd been doing." Well when I had been doing them before I wrist was no weak from being in a cast for 2 months.

Got to about 3 and my wrist gave out and bench every which way, and heard a nice snap! Hurt like a mother f*cker, and has been hurting pretty good since. I've decided not to play in homecoming friday, or the JV game monday even though I'm technically cleared. Coach didn't take a liking to the idea, but respected it.

Going back the doc Monday (soonest I could get in). It'll probably turn out I re broke and I'll have to get a cast again. Hopefully not as long as last time though. Worst case scenario the bone displaced and I'll have to get pins put in (surgery), and be out for more then a few months.

Pray for the best for me folks... seems like I can never keep healthy for long.

Least I got to play one game. lol

They're called life lessons. Hope you learned one.

Bama.....make sure you aim for the thicker part of the skull so you don't do more damage than what's already been done.

Hold off on that 2x4 John. Lmao.

Went to the doc monday and turns out I'm all good. Just aggravated the tissue in the area, and the area just got a little inflamed which was why it was so painful for a while afterwards.

Bust up some scar tissue???? Much better than a re-injury of the fracture. Rehab and strengthen.......

Perhaps, doc said he could still see the line where the scar is.... didn't mention busting it, but sounds like that could be what happened.
